Figure 7.1 shows the updated Sound box properties after the piano2secs volume graph has been selected from the graph finder, a volume extent (Vol. ext.) field value of 2 has been entered (meaning that volume can rise to two units above the current volume), and a Duration field value of 0.5 has been entered. As the Duration method is proportional-to-volume (Prop. to vol.), the Duration field value of 0.5 represents a factor (with volume being the other) used to calculate the duration of the sound, rather than exactly 0.5 seconds.
